US plane crash

From Jim Walsh

I have been enjoying
browsing the Winterberg website especially the items on Iburg which is
where I was stationed from 1959 to March 1961. My name is Jim Walsh
and I was storeman for bottom site. I have a few photos which may
be of interest and am attaching one from 1960. I am on bottom
row second from the right. If this is ok I can forward a few more
which may be of interest to others who were at Iburg. Look
forward to hearing from you.

. I am attaching two more which I hope will
not prove to be too much for the e mail. One is the camp gates
and the other the well worn path to the airmens mess along with some local
children who were entertained by us one afternoon. According to my
caption on the back of it, the CO F/Lt Lester appears on it and also Pete
"Doc" Milledge being shown a cut knee by one of the children.
Three more photos. Thanks for dealing with
them. Hope this provokes some interest from other Iburg veterans
who were there at that time, they may recognise themselves as I cannot
remember all of them. Photo at top is us having a beer
at the bar which looks like its dining in night with the white shirts.
next is taken down by the lake and the other one is us having a beer
in Heinrichs.

GOT ANY PHOTOS YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE
HERE ? E;MAIL DETAILS AND WE WILL TELL YOU HOW TO SEND THEM TO US.

Thanks to the wonders of the Internet and your
Website on Winterberg I have received an E mail from Reg Hall who was stationed
at Iburg between 1951-54. He was an SAC cook and although not on the technical
side remembers that in those days Iburg was a slave station and known as
124 S U. I had a lengthy conversation about our time in Germany and he
came up with the following names he remembered
Ft Lt Stanley Sgt Henderson
(Tech) Sgt Jenkins (M T) 'Taffy' (General Duties)
'Lofty' Goodall (Driver) married a German girl, Charlie Green
(Driver) Don Cannon (LAC cook)
'Jock' Nicholson (Driver) fron Ayr
