PICTURES SENT TO US BY ROWLAND STACEY

Attached are photos of 416SU RAF Uchte taken in 1956/57.

The tech site photo looking towards the 105ft mast shows the stores building in the foreground. The two GEE wagons are back to back to the left of the tower. They were 4 or 5ft apart with a wooden structure joining them with steps giving access. The 2 diesel generators are on the right.

After this photo was taken a second slender mast supported by guy ropes was added between the existing mast and the stores.

The photo of F/S Cotton also shows the stores but looks towards the entrance where the building containing the water pump and purification was situated. All the other photos are self explanatory.

I have included names where I know them, often only christain names.

You have a great site bringing back memories of 50 years ago.

Regards
Rowland Stacey
